Not dated, mid '20s? 10" x 7½", 188pp plus 6 plates, quarter blue cloth with colour spine onlay, glossy paper covered boards, front colour illustrated (girl with hockey-stick over shoulders), back plain cream, hardback. Monochrome illustrated endpapers (different). Illustrated with 6 colour plates (?, Mark Anthony, Savile Lumley, P. Walford, R. H. Brock, and Moorsom); 4pp of two-colour (green and black) illustrated contents pages; 8pp of monochrome photo-pictures; and throughout the text with monochrome drawings. The colour, two-colour and photo-pictures are printed on 'art' paper; the rest on the medium-heavy paper commonly used in this period. Top-front spine corner bumped, edge-foxing, some foxing to endpapers, 'This book' completed in pencil, a few slight fox spots in margins, very bright and clean borads and spine onlay (due to presence of wrapper), internally bright and clean (no colouring); complete with wrapper (repeats boards) that has edge wear/tears, several 2" tears, wear and some loss at fold-corners and head/foot of spine, chip at foot of front panel by spine; but is in remarkably good shape and bright appearance. Well above average condition; wrappers are very scarce with this type of book.
